01/06/08 Eastern Raiders 48 - Kent Ravens 14

Kent Ravens RLFC put in a strong second half performance against the Eastern Raiders but just fell short of claiming a miraculous second half comeback. Having made a disastrous start to the match after conceding an early try, the first half continued in the same vein and unfortunately the Ravens entered half time having been unable to register a point on the board.

However, after a stirring half time team talk between the players, the second half started a lot more brightly with the Ravens looking like they might start a comeback. The first try of the afternoon for the Ravens was scored by Joe Oxford. This try gave the Kent Ravens a foothold in the match and soon after a second try was scored by Phil Nicholls. At this point the Ravens were dominating the match and it looked like the ultimate comeback was on the cards. Unfortunately the Raiders scored a breakaway try which seemed to spur them on again and deflate the Ravens slightly.

Joe Oxford capped a great display by scoring his second try of the match, and captain Darren Griffin kicked the goal to make the final score 48-14 to the Eastern Raiders.
