20/04/08 Grant Received to help Young Ravens Players Develop

In the last couple of weeks Kent Ravens Rugby League Club has received a Kent County Council Member Community Grant. This grant has come from the members of the Kent County Council for the Dartford area. Each of the 84 county councillors can provide financial support for projects that they feel will benefit their local communities. In the past, the funding has helped a wide range of projects around Kent, and this time it was the turn of the Kent Ravens.

Three of the Kent County Council’s members expressed their delight, and reasons why they decided to support the Kent Ravens in this way,

‘I am delighted to have been able to help Kent Ravens from my Members Community Grant and hope the grant will go some way in increasing the involvement of yet more young people in this exciting sport!!’ Christine Angell – KCC Member for Dartford East

‘I hope that the grant is beneficial to the team in many ways, and that it helps to create a team of good rugby players.’ Bertie Bassam – KCC member

‘This is a great project, it helps local young people keep fit and healthy, off the streets having fun and enjoying themselves.’ Tom Maddison – KCC Member

This grant will enable the Ravens to expand and develop as a club, and will help young people to learn a new sport, and new skills.
